Holy Moly Outdoors Lake Wenatchee Sockeye Velocity Weekly Report

Weekly Holy Moly Report July 31st: Lake Wenatchee Sockeye

Back at it again for another go round of sockeye fishing as we took the short jump over the mountains to Lake Wenatchee.  This was one of those humbling trips you hate to experience but help you learn a lot.  We started off launching at 4am at the Glacier Peak campground, weather was perfect (hot forecast for the day and no wind).  Perfect timing to get on the fish. Right from the start we were marking good schools and anticipation grew with each minute of rods slamming.  We saw other boats near us finding some biters but we could not...

Flaming Gorge Holy Moly Outdoors Kokanee RMT Utah Velocity Weekly Report

Weekly Holy Moly Report 4th of July 2016: Flaming Gorge Kokanee

2016 has been the year of the bucket list for me and Holy Moly Outdoors.  Big kokanee have been on my radar all year, and I have been itching to find a new place to explore for a trophy.  With my recent trip to Lake Roosevelt I caught my personal best fish at just over 4 pounds.  But little did I know I would have the opportunity to fish another kokanee power house just a short 2 hour flight away.  Within a week of returning from my Roosevelt I got the call from my good buddy to head down to Utah...

Lake Tapps Muskie Smallmouth Tiger Muskie Weekly Report

Holy Moly Weekly Report June 12th 2016: Lake Tapps Muskie

Weekly Holy Moly Report May 28th-29th: Lake Roosevelt Giant Kokanee

There are times in the sport of fishing where destination opportunities present themselves.  One's where peak timing has aligned and the fish are large.  These chances when presented cannot be passed up or the conversations of should have been here yesterday will sure to be told.  I stumbled upon a trip of such occasion.     When kokanee are the size of footballs and rainbows are not just in the sky, fishing is bound to be epic.  We are talking the kokanee mecca of Washington state and the current state record holder: Lake Roosevelt. Matt and I loaded up the sled and...

Special Holy Moly Outdoors Report 5-21-2016: 7th Annual Lake Stevens Kokanee Derby

Hello everyone, I wanted to bring a special report today from the Lake Stevens Kokanee Derby.  I got to experience an amazing opportunity for this derby.  Last Weekend I was chosen from a drawing to fish with the Northwest Wild Country boat during the derby.  I had the pleasure to fish with Duane Inglin and his wife Sheri for the day (even Wilson got a chance to make it as well).  I could not have asked for two better people to be on a boat with.  They were and absolute joy to be around and I could not have been...
